Nama’a Development and Microfinance Foundation Receives First Batch of PREET Tractors, Launching a New Phase of Support for Yemen’s Agricultural Sector
Nama’a Development and Microfinance Foundation has received the first batch of PREET tractors in Yemen as part of its efforts to expand its services in the agricultural sector and provide modern equipment and technologies that contribute to improving production methods and enhancing the efficiency of agricultural operations.
The arrival of this batch follows the Foundation’s appointment as the exclusive agent for the products of India-based PREET in the Republic of Yemen. This appointment comes under a strategic agreement aimed at providing a diverse range of tractors and agricultural equipment that meets the needs of farmers and agricultural project owners in the Yemeni market.
The arrival of the tractors represents a new step in the Foundation’s efforts to support productive sectors by providing solutions that facilitate agricultural operations, reduce the time and effort required, and improve equipment-use efficiency in land preparation, land reclamation, and various agricultural activities.
In this context, Mr. Mohammed Ali Al-Farran, Head of Nama’a Development and Microfinance Foundation, affirmed that the Foundation’s focus on the agricultural sector stems from the importance of agriculture as one of the vital sectors linked to local production, food security, and economic development.
Al-Farran explained that making PREET tractors available in Yemen is part of the Foundation’s efforts to enable farmers to access modern equipment that helps them develop their agricultural activities and improve production efficiency. He noted that the tractors are available in a variety of models, power ratings, and options suited to different agricultural needs, farm sizes, and operations.
He pointed out that the Foundation does not aim merely to provide agricultural equipment but also seeks to offer integrated solutions that make it easier for farmers and agricultural project owners to access such equipment through purchase options and affordable Sharia-compliant financing.
He added that this step is part of the Foundation’s vision to strengthen its role in supporting productive activities and open new opportunities for farmers to benefit from modern equipment and technologies, thereby contributing to the development of agricultural production and improved efficiency of agricultural projects.
The exclusive agency enables the Foundation to provide a range of PREET tractors with various power ratings and specifications, offering options suited to different types of agricultural land, scales of operation, and farmers’ requirements, alongside the related services and financing solutions.
