Japan Travels | Post #1 - Kyoto
We recently had the honor of visiting Kyoto and Tokyo, Japan! Yes, it's a far flight to the FAR East, but once I got on the plane - and couldn't get OUT of the plane, lol - the excitement of such a unique trip took over.
From the moment you enter the airport, you feel like you've landed in the future. Considering Japan is 13 hours ahead, you actually have! From the ease of entry - using facial recognition - to the magical toilets, Japan has a flow about it.
We arrived at our first hotel, where customer service takes on a different name. The design of the bathroom makes for ease of use, cleaning, and relaxation. The restaurant served delicious food, and, despite the language barrier, we felt welcomed, as the entire staff greets you as you enter and leave.
Day 2 was actually our first outing! Fushini Inari - our first Japanese Shrine - did NOT disappoint! It's known for its red gates. We respected the tradition of bowing at the gates and walked past the Foxes, considered the Messenger of the Gods, at this Temple.
From the sites to the peacefulness to the tradition, this visit was incredible!
