Real-World Win: Improving Site Performance and Security with Cloudflare

One of our clients was on pace to use 245% more bandwidth this month than last with 510,000 unique visitors compared to just 19,000 the previous month.

A closer look revealed that most of the traffic came from Brazil and Vietnam, while the U.S. (their actual market) ranked third. The excess traffic was straining their site’s performance.

We implemented Cloudflare DNS, then blocked the offending countries. The results were immediate . . . faster site load times, reduced bandwidth usage, and stronger overall security.

An added bonus: blocking these countries also blocked many of the bad bots filling our forms and eating up resources.

A great reminder that smarter traffic management can protect both performance and security.
