USDA confirmed a second detection of New World screwworm in Zavala County.

The confirmed case was found in a one-month-old calf. Animal health officials are actively working the case and continuing to expand fly trapping and surveillance efforts to identify additional flies in the area.

The Wharton County Farm Bureau was proud to donate 400 pounds of pork to Wharton Share and Blessing Cup to help support families in our community.

Agriculture is about more than growing crops and raising livestock, it’s about neighbors helping neighbors. We are grateful for the opportunity to give back and partner with organizations that work every day to make a difference in the lives of others across Wharton County.
