🎉 Big News for Caring Hands Outreach Center! 🎉

We're honored to receive a $240,000 grant from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) to support our ADA Garden & Water Catchment Project!

Combined with previous funding from the Iowa DNR, this project will create:
✅ An ADA-accessible community garden
✅ A sustainable rainwater collection system
✅ Hands-on conservation and agriculture education
✅ Workforce development opportunities through our HERD Program
✅ Expanded green space for the Altoona community

This initiative is about more than a garden—it's a place for healing, learning, restoration, and connection. Thank you to IDALS, Iowa Department of Natural Resources , the City of Altoona, Iowa - Government, Polk County Iowa, and all our partners for helping us build a more sustainable and inclusive future!

🚨 **BIG NEWS FOR MEDICARE BENEFICIARIES!** 🚨

Starting July 1, 2026, a new Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program is launching to help you save big on weight-loss medications!

If you qualify, you could get popular medications like Wegovy® and Zepbound® for a flat $50 monthly copay through December 31, 2027.

📋 How to qualify:

Plan: Must be enrolled in Medicare Part D or a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plan.

Approval: Require a doctor's prescription and prior authorization.

Health Criteria: Generally requires a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 35+, OR a BMI of 27+ with a qualifying condition (like high blood pressure, pre-diabetes, heart disease, or a history of stroke/heart attack).

Jess brings over 20 years of experience in social work and a genuine passion for helping others. Throughout her career, she has made a meaningful impact supporting individuals and families across Iowa and now she’s bringing that same heart and dedication to our clients.

In her new role, Jess will be working closely with our clients to stay connected, keep up with their needs, and ensure they always feel supported every step of the way. She’s here to help make communication easy, organized, and personal- just the way it should be.

Outside of work, Jess enjoys spending time with her family, reading, baking, and diving into true crime podcasts. Supporting Jess in her endeavors are her hardworking and loving husband, and her two boys- her greatest gifts- that keep her busy with all kinds of fun activities and adventures. ❤️ Fun fact- she even has a Class A CDL and can drive a semi-truck! 🚛
