Memorial Day is not for the weak-minded, the ungrateful, or those ashamed to stand for the American flag.
It is for the warriors who ran toward gunfire knowing they may never come home again.
For the flag-draped coffins.
For the folded flags placed into trembling hands.
For the rows of white crosses standing silent on foreign soil.
Freedom was never an accident.
It was purchased by men willing to bleed, suffer, and die for people they would never meet.
Only two have ever willingly laid down their lives for you:
Jesus Christ and the American soldier.
One died for your soul.
The other died so you could live free beneath the Stars and Stripes.
And despite every flaw, every attack, and every attempt to tear it down, America is still the greatest nation on Earth because generation after generation of brave men and women answered the call when evil threatened freedom.
This Memorial Day, don’t just enjoy the freedoms you’ve been given.
Remember the price that was paid for them.
Because beneath every small-town flag, every battlefield cross, and every military cemetery rests a hero who gave everything so this nation could keep standing.
We owe them more than a moment of silence.
We owe them remembrance.
We owe them gratitude.
And we owe them a country still worthy of their sacrifice. 🇺🇸
