This or That Thursday.

Gladiator or cupcake?

This weekend I got to train my friend Chris Davini’s 13 year old daughter who plays goalkeeper and it made me laugh thinking about who we were growing up.

Chris was an absolute gladiator. Tough competitor. Great teammate. One of those guys you wanted beside you in battle.

Then he had a daughter.

Cupcake.

And honestly?

Same.

Growing up as a goalkeeper, I thought of myself as a gladiator too. Competitive. Tough. All of it.

But around my daughter?

Total cupcake.

And maybe that is actually the lesson.

You do not have to choose.

You can be strong and soft.

Competitive and compassionate.

Driven and present.

The strongest people are often the ones who know when to be both.
