We support athletes from Vienna, Tysons, Fairfax, Falls Church, McLean, Arlington, Annandale, Reston, Herndon and surrounding areas! Youth Rugby is a fast, exciting, high-scoring game for kids of all ages, and is played worldwide. Vienna Youth Rugby emphasizes FUN - running with the ball, passing, kicking, scoring and tackling (for the older kids). No matter what position you play, you can score
points. Everyone plays in Vienna Youth Rugby (VYR) - there are no cuts and all are welcome, regardless of skill level. VYR is a co-ed sport at the touch level (U-9 and U-11). At the tackle level, girls and boys play separately. Vienna Youth Rugby focuses on teaching the rules of the game, game play, fitness, team work, and having fun in a competitive environment. Respect for self, teammates, coaches, and referees is fundamental to our sport, and we have a dedicated coaching staff of experienced adult players and USA Rugby certified coaches. Vienna Youth Rugby considers every participant - boys, girls, touch, tackle, parents and coaches, to be members of the Vienna Youth Rugby Club. Once a member of a rugby club, the membership is for life, even as you move on to join college or adult clubs. In true rugby tradition, both club teams gather to eat, drink and recount our epic feats on the field. We might even sing a rugby song or two!
