Ramona Rogers introduces her high school students to the possibilities of computer science and STEM through coding, robotics, artificial intelligence and other technology. Along the way, she encourages them to take on challenges, learn from mistakes and see themselves as future problem-solvers in STEM.

With her $1,000 award from Oklahoma Central Foundation, Ramona plans to add programmable robots and coding resources that will let students write Python code, test it through robotics and watch their ideas come to life.

For Jill Hill’s pre-K students, learning happens through touching, building, moving and playing. She creates hands-on experiences that help her young learners practice new skills, build confidence and develop a natural love of learning.

With her $1,000 teacher award from Oklahoma Central Foundation, Ms. Hill will add sensory materials, dramatic-play resources, fine-motor activities, and literacy and math tools to her classroom, giving her students even more ways to learn through play and exploration.
