🌟 Employee Spotlight: Barbara Seegren 🌟

Meet Barbara Seegren, a Case Manager on our Utilization Management team! Barbara helps process authorization requests for inpatient rehabilitation and long-term acute care, ensuring members receive the right level of care when they need it most.

Barbara has been a nurse for 29 years and has spent her career serving others. After more than 20 years in long-term care, she was ready for a new challenge and joined CommunityCare three years ago. While starting something new at 48 felt a little intimidating, she’s embraced the opportunity and found it incredibly rewarding.

What Barbara enjoys most about working at CommunityCare?
👉 Helping members navigate their care journeys and ensuring they have access to the services they need.

Outside of work, Barbara’s greatest joy is her family. She has four children, two bonus sons, six grandchildren, and another grandchild on the way! Her favorite title is “BEBE”, the name her grandchildren call her. ❤️

She and her husband, Ralph, whom she calls her adventure partner, love cruising, attending country music concerts, and making memories together.

Her perfect day? Spending time on a beach surrounded by her children and grandchildren. 🌊☀️

Three words that describe Barbara: Outgoing. Loving. Positive.

Her motto is simple: “Don’t let anyone wonder if you love them. Life is short—don’t sweat the small stuff and cherish the little things.”

We’re grateful for the compassion and care Barbara brings to CommunityCare every day! 💚

🩺Stay healthy with preventive screenings🩺

Preventive screenings help find health problems early, when they're easier to treat.
Many conditions do not show symptoms early on, so regular checkups are an important part of staying well.

If you haven't scheduled your key screenings for 2026, today is the perfect time to do so!

🎉 Please join us in welcoming our 2026 Summer Interns to CommunityCare! ☀️

Over the next few months, our interns will gain hands-on experience, learn from teams across the organization, and discover what it takes to support the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

We’re excited to see the fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and unique perspectives they’ll bring to CommunityCare this summer. Helping students and emerging professionals grow their skills is just one of the ways we invest in the future.

Help us give our 2026 Summer Interns a warm CommunityCare welcome in the comments! 👏

💉Every 2 seconds, someone in the US needs blood and/or platelets. Blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give another person: the gift of life. Blood and platelets cannot be manufactured, so those needing transfusions rely entirely on volunteer donors.

🌞Summer weather is here! With more time outside comes a higher risk of overheating.🌞

Heat-related illnesses happen when the body is not able to properly cool itself.

While the body normally cools itself by sweating, during extreme heat, this might not be enough. In these cases, a person’s body temperature rises faster than it can cool itself down. This can cause damage to the brain and other vital organs.

Learn more at https://heat.gov/heat-safety/

If you or a loved one experiences overheating, seek medical attention immediately.

Taking your medication as directed is one of the most important decisions you can make. It gives you the best opportunity to manage your condition and maintain the best possible health for yourself.

Think about the goals that matter the most for you: cheering at your grandchild's basketball game, walking your daughter down the aisle, or improving your blood pressure. Whatever your "why", let it motivate you to stay on track with your medications and overall health.

Talk with your primary care provider or pharmacist about the medications you are taking, and what tips they can provide you for proper management.
