The Dan Key Farmers Agency is proud to announce this week's Rising Star. Micah Williams from Topeka West High School has been selected as this week's Rising Star.

⚽️ Williams, an All-Shawnee County and Class 5A All-State pick last spring, has scored 15 goals in five games in her first season for Topeka West, leading the Chargers to a perfect 5-0 start.

Williams, a forward, opened the season with one goal against Kansas City-Washington, scored five goals against Highland Park, four against Salina Central, two against Great Bend and three goals against Kansas City-Turner.

Topeka West's 5-0 start has eclipsed the Chargers' win total in a 4-12 2025 campaign.

The Dan Key Farmers Insurance Agency is happy to announce last week's Rising Stars. Axton Brewer from Seaman High School and Sofia Harper from Hayden Catholic High School have been selected as the Rising Stars of the Week.

⚾️ Brewer, an All-Shawnee County and Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches All-Class 5A first-team pick last spring, is off to a hot start for 6-2 Seaman in the 2026 season. Brewer had a big day at the plate on Wednesday as the Vikings pushed their winning streak to five games with a home 12-0, 20-0 United Kansas Conference doubleheader sweep over city rival Topeka West. Brewer hit a home run in the first game against the Chargers and had a three-run double in the second game to help power the Vikings' offensive attack.

🏃🏼‍♀️ Harper, a three-time first-team All-Shawnee County pick in cross country, received all-county honorable in track last spring. Harper posted a seventh-place individual finish in the city cross country championships last fall, placed 16th in the Centennial League meet, 12th in Class 4A regional competition and was 44th at state. Harper opened her 2026 track season in last Friday's Topeka High Invitational with wins in the 200-meter dash (27.00) and 400 (62.39).

The Dan Key Farmers Insurance Agency is proud to announce the Rising Stars from last week! Reece Renyer from Hayden Catholic High School and Brinnley Morris from Shawnee Heights Unified School District 450 were chosen on Friday as the Male and Female Rising Stars of the Week!

🎳 A junior boys bowler, Renyer rolled his first perfect 300 game in the second game in last Wednesday's Class 4A-1A regional tournament at Gage Bowl. Renyer finished third individually with a 652 series to help lead the Wildcats to the team championship by a 3,413-3,297 margin over Ottawa.

🤼‍♀️ Morris capped her freshman wrestling season with the Class 5A 120-pound state championship last Saturday in Park City. Morris, who finished the season 21-3 dominated Salina Central’s Natalia Garcia wire-to-wire, leading 15-4 in the second period before ending the match with a pin. One of three state champions for the T-Birds, Morris helped Shawnee Heights post a third-place team finish for the second straight season.

Dan Key from the Dan Key Farmers Insurance Agency has selected this week's Male and Female Rising Stars! Caleb Menke from Hayden Catholic High School and Leah Crawford from Seaman High School have been chosen as the Rising Stars of the Week!

🤼‍♀️ Menke, a 175-pound junior wrestling standout, reached the 100-win milestone on Thursday at Royal Valley, a rare accomplishment for an underclassmen, and followed that up with the 175-pound championship in Saturday's Centennial League tournament at Washburn Rural, posting a 5-0 record on the day, including a 55-second pin and a 15-0 technical fall.

🎳 A sophomore bowler, Crawford shot a 661 three-game series to capture the girls individual title in Friday's city championships at Gage Bowl. Crawford rolled games of 224, 211 and 226 to take individual honors by 36 pins as Seaman rolled to its third straight city team championship by a 3,293-2,970 margin over Washburn Rural.

The Dan Key Farmers Insurance Agency is proud to announce this week's Male and Female Rising Stars of the Week! JoJo Kingcannon from Highland Park High School and Brynn Anderson from Washburn Rural High School have been awarded as this week's Rising Stars!

🏀 Kingcannon, a junior for the Scots, is averaging 19.3 ppg this season, 5 rebounds, and 3.7 steals this season. Scoring a career-high 35 points against KC-Harmon, Kingcannon is sitting at around 329 total points for this season.

🏀 A freshman basketball standout, Anderson was named the Most Valuable Player in the Glaciers Edge Tournament at Emporia after scoring a game-high 20 points in the championship game as Washburn Rural captured the tournament title with a 48-42 win over Wichita Southeast. Anderson hit 5 of 10 shots from the field, including a 3-pointer, and went 9 of 10 at the free throw line for the 10-4 Junior Blues.

The Dan Key Farmers Insurance Agency is proud to announce this week's Male and Female Rising Stars of the Week. Blaine Durbin from Cair Paravel Latin School and Ahsieyrhuajh Rayton from Topeka High School have been selected as this week's Rising Stars!

🏀 Durbin, a sophomore frontliner, scored a total of 60 points in three wins on the week as No. 8-ranked (Class 2A) Cair Paravel won the championship in the Flint Hills League Tournament at Emporia. Durbin scored 17 points in a 64-30 win over West Franklin, had 30 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a 60-45 win over Lyndon and scored 13 points in the Lions' 64-47 win over Osage City as CPLS stretched its winning streak to eight games.

🏀 Rayton, a junior, reached the 1,000 point milestone in the game against Derby in the Capitol Classic tournament. Rayton, who scored 33 points in a Tuesday night win over Atchison, surpassed that total with Thursday's 37-point explosion, hitting four 3-pointers among her 14 field goals while hitting five of eight free throws.

The Dan Key Farmers Insurance is proud to announce this week's Male and Female Rising Stars. Kelton Meier from Hayden Catholic High School and Olive Jones from Shawnee Heights have been selected as this week's Rising Stars!

🎳 A junior bowling standout, Meier opened his 2026 season with the individual championship in last Tuesday's Hayden quadrangular at Gage Bowl. Meier, who helped the Wildcats win their first-ever Class 4A-1A state team title last season, rolled a 785 three-game series, capped by a perfect 300 game in his final game of the day.

🤼‍♀️ Jones, a sophomore wrestler, went 3-0 with 27, 49 and 46-second pins at the Shawnee Heights tournament last week. She currently stands at 21-1 for this season.

The Dan Key Farmers Agency is proud to announce this week's Rising Stars. Brooks Ballard from Washburn Rural High School and Hailey Caryl from Topeka High School have been chosen as this week's Male and Female Rising Stars.

🏀 A 6-foot-2 sophomore, Ballard connected on 6 of 10 3-point attempts and hit 7 of 11 shots overall and his only free throw attempt on the way to a career-high 21-point performance in Saturday's 68-53 non-league road victory at Olathe West, helping the Junior Blues improve to 5-2 on the season.

🏀 Caryl, a sophomore from Topeka High, scored 26 points in 87-31 win over Highland Park on Friday and 8 pts., 9 rebounds, 8 assists in 65-47 win over Lawrence on Tuesday.

Dan Key Farmers Insurance is proud to announce this week's Rising Stars! Prince Lassiter from Topeka West High School and Karys Deiter from Silver Lake High School have been chosen as this week's Male and Female Rising Stars!

🏀 The lone underclassman in Topeka West's starting lineup, the 6-foot-6 junior has scored between 9 and 18 points in all four games for the No. 2-ranked (Class 5A) Chargers this season as West has posted a 4-0 record with four straight double-digit wins. Lassiter opened the season with 18 points in an 81-54 win over De Soto, had 11 points in a 79-44 win over Shawnee Mission West, 11 points in a 71-57 win over Seaman and had 9 points in Tuesday's 72-62 victory over Piper.

🏀 A 5-foot-6 sophomore, Deiter has helped lead No. 2-ranked (Class 3A) Silver Lake to a perfect 4-0 start in basketball after playing a major role this fall as the Eagles won the state championship in volleyball. Deiter scored a team-high 18 points on Tuesday as Silver Lake posted a 69-53 win over rival Rossville, the Eagles' fourth straight double-digit victory. Deiter hit 6 of 13 shots from the field with two 3-pointers and went 4 of 4 from the free throw line in Tuesday's victory.

✨RISING STARS OF THE WEEK
Rising Stars are back! With the start of the Winter Sports season, we are excited to announce this week's Male and Female Rising Stars! Daniel Allen from Washburn Rural High School and Baylee Ayres from Seaman High School have been selected as this week's Rising Stars!

🏊🏻‍♂️ Allen, a junior, returned to high school swimming after a year away with three wins and a second-place finish in the season-opening Topeka West Invitational last Wednesday at the Capitol Federal Natatorium. Allen won the 200-yard freestyle and 100 butterfly individually and swam on the Junior Blues' winning 200 free relay and runnerup 400 free relay.

🏀 After making her high school debut with four points in a season-opening loss to Piper, Ayres followed that up with a game-high 14 points on Tuesday as Seaman picked up its first victory of the season in a 65-18 United Kansas Conference romp past Lansing.

✨RISING STARS OF THE WEEK ✨
The Dan Key Farmers Insurance Agency is proud to announce this week's Rising Stars. G'Honi Montgomery from Highland Park High School and Karys Deiter from Silver Lake High School have been selected as this week's Male and Female Rising Stars.

🏈 Montgomery rushed for 292 yards and five touchdowns on just 14 carries as Highland Park earned a share of the Meadowlark Conference title with a win over previously-unbeaten Washington.

🏐 Deiter has helped Silver Lake post a 41-1 record this fall, including 32 straight wins. Silver Lake won regional and sub-state titles last week and is the top seed for the 3A state tournament.

Congrats to G'Honi and Karys for all your achievements this season. Best of luck on the rest of your seasons!
