NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration's 2026 Atlantic hurricane outlook is here β€” and the agency is calling for a 55% chance of a below-normal season.

The forecast: 8 to 14 named storms, 3 to 6 hurricanes, and 1 to 3 major hurricanes between June 1 and November 30. A developing El NiΓ±o is expected to suppress activity, though warmer Atlantic temperatures and weaker trade winds are pushing in the opposite direction.
