Even though the hailstorms in Springfield were almost a month ago, I’m still hearing from clients who have people knocking on their doors about repairs.

So here’s a quick reminder for homeowners:

You have the right to choose who does the repair work on your home.

After storms like this, it’s common for contractors to go door to door. Some are great. Some are not. But if someone is pressuring you to sign something quickly, telling you “you have to decide today,” or making you feel uneasy, listen to your gut.

✅ Don’t sign anything you don’t fully understand.

✅ Don’t feel rushed.

✅ Ask questions.

✅ Check reviews.

✅ Make sure they are insured.

And reach out to your insurance agent if you’re unsure what the next step should be.

Your roof, siding, and home are too important to let someone pressure you into a rushed decision.

A good contractor will educate you, answer your questions, and give you room to make a good decision. They won’t need to pressure you.

When in doubt, slow down and get a second opinion.
