This week, I am grateful for the wonders of good food.

From baked goods, to casseroles, to food fresh off the grill, there is something wonderful and special about a home cooked meal. The care and commitment that it takes to cook for others is an admirable trait and the way food brings people together is extraordinary. How a simple cookie can practically make anyone smile is something quite remarkable.

Before the weekend is over, take a moment to either thank those that cook for you, or show your love through your own cooking for others.

NEIGHBOR SPOTLIGHT - Local State Park

If you head south on highway 112 from Cassville, you'll find yourself in the midst of Roaring River State Park.

Amongst the rushing waters, you'll find fly fishers and spincasters alike trying to catch the biggest trout on their hooks. Beyond the fun of fishing, there are trails to hike, fish to feed, and one of the deepest caves recorded.

It can be so refreshing to get out in the great outdoors and take a breath of the fresh Ozark air. Whether it's taking a hike or partaking in the art of fishing, be sure to show appreciation to your local parks by taking care of them in little ways. Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints.
