The Peru Rotary Club heard from Anora Caby today, a foreign exchange student from Lille, France. She was introduced by Rotarian Matt Merboth.

Anora -17 years old - is staying with a Utica family and will live with two additional families during her one year in the United States. She is a senior at LP high school and is involved in tennis, cheerleading and in the spring is considering becoming a pole vaulter on the trac team.

Enora entertained the club with a PowerPoint showing beautiful photos of the various French foods, the Carnival celebration which goes from town to town in France, and the Sreet Market tradition of a 48 hour party.

Her passions are scouts, gymnastics, running, cooking, travel and scuba. Her goal in the United States is to “try everything”.

CONTEST ALERT from Spring Valley City Bank!! The Hall Food Pantry is asking for your donations, and we need you to spread the word that Spring Valley City Bank in SV is a drop-off point this month for your non-perishable and/or cash donations! In keeping with our Friends-inspired giant coffee cup theme, we are giving away a $25 gift card to The Daily Grind to one lucky winner! To enter, comment “FOOD DRIVE” on the Spring Valley City Bank page, My Hometown Spring Valley page, and/or Spring Valley City Bank Instagram page by 11 a.m. Central tomorrow, Thursday, 10/15/26. ☕️


Rules: The winner will be randomly drawn from those entrants. Participants may enter one time per each site. All entries will have an equal chance of winning. So, when Hall Food Pantry in partnership with Grow Spring Valley approached us to decorate a bin for their annual community food drive, we couldn’t BE any more excited about our theme! Visit our SV lobby to drop off your non-perishable food items in the giant Central Perk coffee cup today through November 1. Don’t feel like shopping? We have a tip jar for cash donations.

The Hall Booster Organization (HBO) is a volunteer-run organization that supports Hall High School students by promoting the importance of academics, extracurricular participation, and community involvement.
