We are so inspired by Humane Evacuation Animal Rescue Team (HEART) efforts to help evacuate hard to transport animals (horses, cows, goats, and more) and also care for them at the Spokane Fairgrounds during the Spokane Complex Fires, that Media Credit Union will be making a $500 donation to HEART!

HEART is already refilling supplies and preparing for the next emergency event and here’s some ways to give:

If you are a Member - Donate through Media Credit Union
1. Call us at 509-838-8960 and tell a team member how much you’d like to donate. We collect funds from your account and put it into the HEART fund so we can make a large contribution at once.
2. Cash deposit or check deposit. As you deposit into your account, let us know it is for a donation and we will make the transfer to the HEART fund.
3. Enroll in the Debit Card Round Up program and choose HEART as the non-profit of your choice. Every time you use your Debit Card it will round up to the nearest dollar contribute to this cause. Enroll using online banking 24-7 or by calling the credit union and speaking with a team member.

“Giving is a gift to the Giver” and as that saying goes our team has done everything we can this week to give back to our members and community in this time. Little things go a long way and our members have also been so generous with their time and energy, helping those among us in need. With sober minds we go into the weekend and hope for the best on hot and windy days. We will be back open on Monday. Stay safe out there!

People are helping and it's heartwarming to see. If you want to bring a donation to the credit union when you do your banking, you're more than welcome to do that. One tip for the hot days ahead - Go around your property and look for dry brush or flammable items to move away from your house and outbuildings.

We are here for every member story and will continue to walk through this unprecedented time with our members and our community. Remember to keep a few things in your car - all the time, not just fire season (masks, water, gas, first aid) just in case, as hotter temps come our way. We also want to thank our Media Makers for keeping the community informed during rapid changes. We see your work and know how important it is to our community!

We’re hosting a very good boy in the branch today!
Media Credit Union is ready to serve our community. We are not in an evacuation zone and open until 4:30 pm in the lobby and 5:00 pm in the drive thru today, and the rest of the week. 💜

During these unprecedented times, when you’re not sure if you’ll need to evacuate or not, it can be hard to slow down and think of what do to next. We encourage you to review your insurance for your home or rental and take a few minutes to record your belongings. Our doors are open to our members during this time, and we continue to hold the community in our thoughts.
