🦌 While "watch for deer" is part of a loving Midwestern goodbye, it is a very real concern when driving. Deer-vehicle accidents peak in October and November in Michigan, and many drivers find out too late that their policy does not cover it.

Animal collisions are covered under comprehensive auto coverage - not collision. If you only carry liability, a deer strike is not a covered event. Comprehensive handles damage from things outside your control: theft, weather, fire, and wildlife.

🚲 E-bikes are one of Michigan's fastest-growing ways to get outside - but knowing where your coverage stands is trickier than it looks.

Michigan classifies e-bikes into three classes based on speed and motor assist. Once a bike exceeds certain thresholds, it can legally qualify as a moped or motorcycle - and at that point, state registration and insurance may be required, not optional.
