As the state prepares for arctic cold and winter weather, DPS asks everyone to exercise caution, stay vigilant and remain prepared as winter weather can be unpredictable.

We know that inclement weather can present challenges for drivers — and it’s important to avoid traveling (if possible) when sleet, freezing rain or snow is predicted.

If you must travel, exercise caution, drive slowly and allow extra time to reach your destination. Also, increase the distance between your vehicle and others, as you may need additional room to stop.
