The starter-home math is getting a little more interesting.
Redfin estimates that the typical U.S. household now earns about $17,000 more than the income needed to afford a median-priced starter home, compared with a gap of roughly $12,500 a year ago. Their analysis assumes a 15% down payment and housing costs at or below 30% of income, so your own numbers and local market will tell the real story. If a starter home is on your radar, send me a message and I'll help you see what the numbers could look like for you.
