The negative belief "I cant" is a really vague one.

I think thats why its so difficult to overcome.

This phrase is a good start to that.

Instead of fighting the negative thought reframe it into something somewhat positive.

In my experience having "I can't" as part of your thoughts, isn't as hepful as removing it.

That said, I'm not everyone.

This worked for Carol, it may work for you.

Give it a shot and let me know how it worked out!

Wouldn't it be nice if everything just worked itself out?

P**f, you didn't do anything and it all just magically comes together.

Isn't that how it works?

Alright, kidding aside we all know life doesn't work like that.

In order to improve your skill set we must face challenges while learning, whatever the skill is.

What skills are you working on and what was the most helpful challenges you've faced along the way?

How often have you heard the phrase "Fake it till you make it"?

At the root of that mindset is the idea that one isn't capable, worthy, or something similar.

In short they doubt themselves.

This quote fits me pretty hard. I've had many set backs and struggles. Im not sure I want to even post this story.

From personal experience, the more you maintain that doubt, the more deeply it gets believed which usually leads to quitting what one is doing. This then leads to another fake it process.

If you never make it then the doubt carries on and on.

If you have struggled with similar thoughts and experiences give me a thumbs up/share with others too.

The one thing we all have is our mind. You may say, "I can't afford that", and perhaps you can't but you can learn by googling things, or going to the local library and reading for free.

Plenty of information by those that are successful at the things you want to improve at are available for no extra cash out of pocket.

It will take time, which means you won't reach the destination you are picturing as early as you'd like but if you don't quit you'll get there eventually.

Opportunities can't exist unless we have the understanding needed to spot them.

Your education doesn't stop when you are done with school if you are trying to create a better financial situation, much less physical, emotional, or mental state for yourself and/or others.

School gives us the basics needed to start focusing our personal path. Your interests may not be the same as mine, so you and I will have slightly different investment interests, but we can be the same in that we are increasing our understanding of how things work.

The lesson I get from this is: don't become complacent. Even if you are successful, there is still more to improve at. Just because you've "made it" doesn't mean you can just coast now.

Where do we get that idea from anyway? Why do we think that when we start making a bunch of money we just get to slack off, stop learning, and just consume?

That's not how the wealthy pass on wealth, stay wealthy, or create wealth in the first place. Is it possible we are being sold that idea so that others can make money off of us, while keeping the majority broke and poor? What are your thoughts?

I totally agree with the not stopping on this one.

If you stop learning, eventually you'll stop progressing. While I may not have gotten to where I am when I wanted to, there's a part of me that wishes I could have done so earlier.

I definetely feel like Ive been slower at making progress than I've seen others, but because I haven't quit I'm still getting closer to where I want to be.

So yes, don't quit, but go slow? I'm not sure about that what do you think?

I find this statement somewhat ironic. Its almost like stating the obvious.

Situation is obviously not destination as they are totally different words.

Situation is the here and now, destination is out there. How often do we confuse the two though. How often do we get frustrated at where we are instead of where we want to be.

This is a really good reminder not to get caught up on how things are and instead focus on the actions needed to get to where you want to be.

This saying reminds me of the principle "Perspective determines action".

Our view of the world is not how the world is, its a reflection of how we are.

Two people can look out a window at a rainstorm and feel totally different about it. One views it as gloomy, while the other runs to the garden thats finally getting the water it needs.

Nothing changed with the weather, simply their perspectives.

We tend to assume that happiness is dependant on circumstances. It goes somethign like "I'm happy when...", as if to be happy requires us to get, do, see, or say something that "makes" us happy.

The truth, which took me way longer to understand than I'd like to admit, is that happiness is a choice. As tough as that is to accept. Others do not "make you mad", we simply use others actions or words to verify or validate our already existing beliefs.

In other words, feelings are beliefs. We attach an emotional response to the actions of others and then use it as validation for what we already believed.

Change your perspective, change your life is another saying. Don't like how things are going, choose how you feel instead.

Has your alarm clocked ever felt like and enemy?

You stare at the ceiling smothered in the weight of your responsibilities: deadlines, difficult conversations, to-do grows while you sleep, etc. It would be super easy to just lay in bed. Just let the world move on without you for a while.

Instead, you got up.

Pushing through the brain fog, finished tasks that overwhelmed you, and struggled through setbacks. Exhausted by 5pm but still standing, you made it.

Why the struggle matters

Character building is similar to building muscle. You build a little at a time by pushing against tension over and over.

Every time you keep going, you add a layer to your mindset. You challenge what your negative thoughts tell you isn't possible and raise the bar for yourself.

When the struggle hits hard, take a breath and acknowledge how things are. Then ask yourself whats the next step you can take, and take it.
