Homeownership starts with education — and it takes a team. 🏡❤️

Tonight I had the opportunity to join Pam Wall, Juan Galavis and the PrimeLending team for a First-Time Homebuyer Seminar.

This is exactly what partnership should look like.
Buying your first home can feel overwhelming. Where do I start? How much do I need? What programs are available? Could down payment assistance help me?
Sometimes the first step toward homeownership is simply creating a space where families can ask those questions, understand their options and leave feeling more prepared for what comes next.

At Arizona IDA, we want our lending partners to see us as an extension of their team. You bring the lending expertise and relationship with the homebuyer; we bring the DPA programs, education, resources and support to help you identify additional pathways when a borrower needs them.

That’s why evenings like this matter.

Some people just have a way of making you feel welcome every time you see them.

Cruz had actually been on my mind for several days as someone I needed to reconnect with… and then, of all places, I ran into her at NAHREP AVANCE Global in Las Vegas. ✨

Seeing her there was such a nice surprise.

Lidia is with WFG National Title Insurance Company | Arizona, and every time our paths cross, she is exactly the same- warm, welcoming, genuine and always happy to see you.

And honestly, those are the people I love working with.

Our industry is built on transactions, but the relationships that last are built on how people make you feel. Years can pass, jobs can change and life gets busy, but when you reconnect and it immediately feels comfortable, you know it's a relationship worth keeping.

Lidia, it was so good seeing you in Vegas! ❤️ I’m taking it as my reminder that we were overdue for a catch-up. 😊

The right conversations can open doors. 🏡

One of the highlights of NAHREP AVANCE Global in Las Vegas was reconnecting with
Frank Fuentes and meeting Raul Espinoza with Rocket Mortgages.

Frank and I go back to our New American Funding days in 2017 and NAHREP - National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals® so seeing him again after all these years was a great reminder of how small our industry can be- and how relationships built years ago can reconnect us at exactly the right time.

That reunion also led to a great conversation with Raul about something I care deeply about: how we continue creating more pathways to homeownership in a market where affordability remains a challenge for so many families.

After spending many years as a loan officer, I know the value of having the right tools available when a borrower needs another option. Today, that perspective shapes the work I do with Arizona Industrial Development Authority - Arizona IDA, listening to the professionals on the front lines, building relationships with our industry partners, and continuing conversations around how programs like Home Plus Arizona - Home Buyer Down Payment Assistance Program and Arizona Is Home can help expand access to homeownership across Arizona.

No single organization solves the affordability challenge alone. It takes lenders, real estate professionals, housing organizations and community partners willing to listen, collaborate and keep looking for solutions.

And the words behind us couldn't have been more appropriate:

One of the best parts of attending NAHREP AVANCE Global was meeting professionals from across the country who share the same passion for homeownership and serving our communities.

I had the pleasure of meeting Carlos M. Parra with Realty of America, and we had such a great conversation about the importance of creating more opportunities for families in our communities.

A few days at NAHREP AVANCE Global surrounded by people who are passionate about homeownership, leadership, business and creating opportunities for our communities.

I’m heading back to Arizona grateful for the conversations, the energy, the new connections, and even a few unexpected reunions along the way. ❤️

One of my favorite parts of what I do with Arizona IDA is getting out into the industry, listening, learning, building relationships and sharing the resources available through Home Plus and Arizona Is Home.

There’s something special about being in a room full of people who understand that homeownership can change the trajectory of a family for generations.

What a great afternoon with the Arizona Mortgage Lenders Association (AMLA)! 🏡

Today Dirk Swift and I attended AMLA's Happy Hour it was a wonderful opportunity to meet some incredible new people, reconnect with familiar faces, and continue building relationships across our mortgage community.

One of the things I love about this industry is how so many of us move within the same circles, sometimes at different points in our careers and on completely different timelines- and somehow, our paths have a way of crossing again.

That’s what this is all about: relationships, community, and finding ways to support one another along the way.
