If your household lost its primary wage earner, how long could it cover the bills?

Nearly half of Americans, 47%, say they would have trouble paying living expenses within six months of their primary wage earner’s death.*

The mortgage, groceries, and tuition wouldn’t stop. Life insurance can help provide money to meet those needs while a family navigates loss.

Start with your actual monthly expenses. Compare them with available savings and existing coverage. Then consider how long that support would need to last.

It’s a difficult question. Answering it now can help you prepare for the people who depend on you.

The same people who underestimate how much life insurance they need, have a tendency to overestimate how much it will cost.

Both assumptions can keep families from putting the proper protection in place.

If you were to die prematurely, your family could be left without your income in addition to being without you. Your current savings may not be enough to take care of them.

As a rule of thumb, you should consider having life insurance coverage that’s at least 10X your annual family income.

If you earn $50,000/year, you should consider $500,000 in coverage. At a conservative 5% rate of return, that would replace half of your income.

You might not be able to fully protect yourself from an unexpected illness or accident, but you can protect your income and your wealth.

Love is what you do while you’re here.

You provide.
You show up.
You make the mortgage payment.
You buy the groceries.
You drive them to school.
You make plans for a future you expect to share.

But love can also mean preparing for a future you hope never comes.

Life insurance can’t replace a parent, a spouse, a laugh around the dinner table, or the person everyone turns to when life gets hard.

What it can do is help protect the life that continues.

It can help give a family time. Options. Stability. The ability to keep moving forward while everything else feels like it has stopped.

Because the greatest promise we make to the people we love isn’t simply:

“I’ll take care of you.”

It’s:

“I’ve done what I can to make sure you’re cared for, even if I can’t be there.”

Understanding life insurance starts with one question: What do you need it to do?

➡️ Term life insurance provides coverage for a specific period. It generally offers a lower initial premium, making it an option for years when responsibilities like raising children or paying a mortgage are greatest.

➡️ Permanent life insurance is designed to provide lifelong coverage, provided policy requirements are met. It can also build cash value, with costs and features that vary by policy.

Before choosing, ask:
• How long will I need protection?
• What can I comfortably afford?
• Can I renew or convert the policy, and at what cost?
• What happens if my needs change?

You don’t have to know every insurance term. Start by understanding your options.

Your income is a superpower. Every day, it helps put a roof over your family’s heads, food on the table, and opportunities within reach.

But who would carry that responsibility if you were no longer here?

Life insurance can help replace lost income so the people who depend on you can keep moving forward. It’s one way the care you give today can continue protecting them tomorrow.

Being their hero starts with understanding what they need and putting protection in place that fits your family and your budget.

You can’t control every tomorrow. But you can take steps today to protect theirs.

Think about who you were when you first bought life insurance.

Now think about your life today.

Maybe you got married.

Had children.

Bought a house.

Changed careers.

Earn significantly more.

Started a business.

Took responsibility for an aging parent.

Or maybe some responsibilities disappeared and your financial position became stronger.

Your life didn’t stand still.

But your policy may have.

Owning life insurance answers one question.

Whether it still fits your life is another.

A review doesn’t automatically mean buying something new.

It might confirm that everything is exactly where it should be.

It might reveal an outdated beneficiary.

A gap in coverage.

A workplace benefit you misunderstood.

Or simply a question you’ve never asked.

The goal isn’t more insurance.

The goal is understanding whether the protection you have still matches the people, responsibilities and future you have today.

Belief may be the most powerful form of capital because it compounds.

When you believe in one person, you do more than encourage them. You help change what they believe is possible.

One person can change a family.
One leader can build a team.
One financial educator can influence a community.

That is how real impact grows. Not all at once, but person by person, family by family, and leader by leader.

You may never fully see the return on the belief you invest today. But the conversation you have, the encouragement you give, and the potential you recognize could keep multiplying long after the moment has passed.

People may forget your title.
They may forget your numbers.
But they will remember that you believed in them first.
