A government-declared emergency may create a Medicare Special Enrollment Period for people who missed an enrollment opportunity because of the emergency.”

Use this caption:

Medicare SEP + Drought: What You Need to Know

A drought declaration does not automatically mean everyone can change Medicare plans.

But if a government-declared emergency affected your ability to use an enrollment period — for example, you missed a valid Medicare election window because of the emergency — you may have options.

This is not a free-for-all.
This is not “everybody switch plans.”
This is a check your facts, check your dates, and document what happened situation.

If drought, wildfire, evacuation, water restrictions, displacement, or another declared emergency affected your Medicare timing or access to care, let’s review it carefully.

Know your coverage. Use your coverage. Live your life.

Educational only. Coverage and SEP eligibility vary by situation.

UTAH & IDAHO — Medicare heads up.

Both states now have drought emergency declarations.

Does that mean everyone gets to change Medicare plans?

Nope. That is not how this works, and I’m not here to sell fairy dust in a compliance costume.

But here’s what it can mean:

If you were affected by the declared emergency and missed another valid Medicare enrollment period because of it, you may qualify for a disaster-related Special Enrollment Period.

Translation:

If life got sideways, deadlines were missed, benefits changed, prescriptions got expensive, doctors disappeared from your network, or you are not sure what options you actually have — it is worth a review.

This is not automatic.
This is not a free-for-all.
This is not “everybody switch plans today.”

It is a possible SEP that needs to be checked correctly.

That’s where I come in.

Medicare can be confusing, and I’m excited to help you navigate it — without the scare tactics, without the nonsense, and without pretending every headline equals an enrollment code.

Know your coverage.
Use your coverage.
Live your life.

Message me if you’re in Utah or Idaho and want me to look at your situation.

Educational information only. Not legal advice. Coverage varies by carrier, policy, county, and situation.

Most people never review their Medicare plan after they enroll.

That can be a mistake.

Plans change every year and many people don’t realize they may qualify for:

• lower prescription costs
• dental and vision benefits
• grocery or OTC allowances
• different copays for specialists

I help people review their Medicare coverage so they understand exactly what they have and whether it still fits their needs.

If your plan is solid, I will tell you.
If there is something better for your situation, I will show you.

Send me a message that says REVIEW and I will walk you through it.

You worked too hard to guess your way through Medicare.

The $0 Plan That Wasn’t $0”

“I picked the $0 plan.”

I hear that a lot.

And sometimes it is the right fit.

But here’s what people don’t always realize:

$0 premium doesn’t mean:
• $0 copays
• $0 hospital stays
• $0 imaging
• $0 out-of-network exposure

It simply means there isn’t a monthly premium.

The real question isn’t “What’s the premium?”

The real question is:
👉 What happens when you actually use it?

Some plans are built for low usage.
Some are built for chronic conditions.
Some work beautifully in certain counties.
Some don’t.

There’s no universal “best.”
There’s only “best for your situation.”

If your costs this year feel different than expected, it’s worth looking at why.

👉 Free Medicare review. No pressure. Just clarity.

When things change quietly, the impact isn’t quiet.

Coverage was chosen based on what was true at the time:
• Doctors were in-network
• The hospital system was contracted
• Care access was solid

Then the new plan year started.

What changed behind the scenes:
• A carrier ended contracts with an entire doctor group and hospital system
• The notice (if it came) didn’t clearly explain the real impact
• The problem didn’t show up until care was needed

Result:
➡️ Doctors suddenly out of network
➡️ Hospital access disrupted
➡️ No mistake by the client—just a system change

This is why Medicare reviews matter even after enrollment ends.
Education is how quiet problems get fixed when the rules allow it.

👉 If your doctors, hospital, or access changed, schedule a free Medicare review.
No pressure. No sales talk. Just clarity.

Today reminded me why I take this work personally.

Medicare isn’t just paperwork. It’s real people, real prescriptions, and real dollars at the counter.

When someone trusts me with their coverage, I don’t take that lightly. Ever.

And when something doesn’t land the way it should, I go back, I recheck, I own it, and I make it right — because trust matters more than being “right.”

If you’re on Medicare and you’ve never had someone walk you through drug tiers, deductibles, and what your first fill of the year can really cost, that’s a conversation worth having.

No pressure. No obligation. Just clarity.

Because surprises in healthcare are the worst kind.
