One of the reasons I joined New York Life was because I started asking myself some important questions.

Who controls my schedule? How much influence do I have over my income? Am I building something of my own or simply working toward someone else's vision?

I wanted the opportunity to build my own business without the traditional overhead and expenses of starting one from scratch.

The best networking opportunities don't always begin with business. Sometimes, they begin with a shared purpose.

I had the opportunity to attend the ribbon-cutting celebration for Puertas Abiertas, hosted by the Napa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

What stood out to me wasn't just the event itself, but the people I met and their passion for making a difference in our communities.

From legal aid to workforce development, I connected with individuals and organizations committed to helping others overcome challenges and create better opportunities for themselves and their families.

It reinforced something I've been reflecting on about networking and leadership.

Too often, we walk into networking events thinking:

- Who can I do business with?
- What opportunities can I get?
- Who can help me grow?

But what if we approached those same conversations differently?

Who can I help? What can I learn? How can we create something meaningful together?

Some of the conversations I had have already opened the door to potential collaborations, including opportunities to bring our knowledge and resources together through community presentations.

And that's what excites me most.

Not the possibility of another transaction, but the opportunity to build relationships that create a greater impact than any of us could accomplish alone.

Leadership isn't just about opening doors for yourself. It's about opening doors for others.

The real value of networking isn't measured by how many business cards you collect or how many contacts you add to your phone.

It's measured by the trust you build, the relationships you nurture, and the positive impact you create together.

Grateful to the Napa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Puertas Abiertas, and everyone who continues investing their time, talents, and resources into strengthening our communities.

There’s more to Vallejo than the headlines.

Too often, the conversation about Vallejo focuses on what’s wrong with our city. And while we certainly have challenges that need to be addressed, there is another side of Vallejo that deserves just as much attention.

Tonight, at the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce networking event, I was reminded of what makes this community special.

Behind the headlines are hardworking business owners, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and neighbors who genuinely care about this city and its future.

People who are building businesses, creating opportunities, developing friendships, supporting one another, and investing their time and resources into making Vallejo better.

There are so many great things happening throughout our community—networking events, business openings, community initiatives, partnerships, and opportunities for economic development.

And at the heart of it all are relationships.

Because strong communities aren't built by businesses alone. They're built by people who show up, connect, collaborate, support local businesses, and believe in the potential of where they live and work.

Vallejo has challenges, but Vallejo also has tremendous potential. And more importantly, Vallejo has people who care enough to do something about it.

I'm grateful for the relationships and friendships I've developed here, and I'm excited about the opportunities ahead.

Let's continue supporting our local businesses, celebrating the good happening around us, and working together to build a stronger Vallejo.

Let's not allow the negative headlines to become the only story told about our city. Let's help write a better one.

Leadership is not just about the impact you make. It's about the impact you multiply.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of participating in a panel discussion celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, where we shared our experiences, perspectives, and vision for the future of our industry.

One of the topics I spoke about was my upcoming transition into management and what that next chapter means to me.

Throughout my career as a financial professional, I've had the opportunity to help families protect what matters most, prepare for their futures, and build financial confidence.

But I've come to realize something: My impact doesn't have to stop with the families I personally serve.

By developing financial professionals into confident, knowledgeable, and purpose-driven leaders, I have the opportunity to multiply that impact across entire communities.

Within the Latino community, many families continue to face barriers to financial education, access, and trusted guidance. And while these challenges are particularly important to me, the need extends far beyond any one community.

We need more financial leaders who understand that this profession is about more than financial products or transactions. It's about relationships, education, trust, and helping people build a stronger future.

My vision is to build leaders who build leaders. Professionals who protect families, empower communities, and help businesses thrive.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to share the stage with Rachel Garcia and Cristina Solano and to be part of an organization where leadership development can create a lasting impact.

The next chapter isn't just about growing a business.

WIN TOMORROW TODAY.

Something I've been learning lately is that preparation isn't just about being organized. It's about being intentional.

I've been challenging myself to prepare the night before. My clothes, my calendar, my priorities, even the small decisions that can consume valuable time and energy.

Why? Because I want to start my day executing, not figuring out what I'm supposed to be doing.

And here's something I've realized:

Don't make tomorrow's version of you pay for today's procrastination.

As I continue growing and developing other leaders, I'm reminded that excellence isn't something we turn on when the opportunity arrives.

It's a standard we develop through the decisions we make every day.

We can't control everything tomorrow brings, but we can control how we prepare for it.

Prepare today. Execute tomorrow.

Leadership begins with understanding the history of the communities we serve.

Today was History Day with Leadership Petaluma, and what an incredible opportunity to learn more about the people, places, and events that shaped this community.

From exploring the Petaluma Historical Library & Museum and the historic waterfront to visiting the Petaluma Adobe, each stop offered a deeper appreciation for the generations who came before us.

One of my biggest takeaways was realizing how interconnected our communities truly are. Learning more about General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, the region's Indigenous history, and the development of Petaluma reminded me that the decisions made generations ago continue to influence the places we call home today.

As leaders, I believe we have a responsibility not only to understand where we've been, but also to be intentional about what we leave behind.

History tells us where we've been. Leadership determines what we build next.

Sometimes we need to be reminded of our WHY.

Earlier today, I was looking for this picture of my family. I couldn't remember where I had put it, and for a moment, I thought I had misplaced it.

When I finally found it, I put it back where it belongs. Right in front of me.

This picture was taken nearly 20 years ago, when my kids were still little.

A lot has changed since then. We've experienced blessings, challenges, victories, and losses that have forever changed our lives.

And looking at this picture today reminded me of something.

This is my WHY.

My family has always been one of the greatest reasons behind what I do. Why I work hard, why I continue to grow, and why I push myself to become better.

Over the years, I've learned that our reasons can evolve. Sometimes we're chasing a dream. Other times, we're trying to overcome something we never imagined we'd face.

What pushes you to start may not be enough to carry you to the finish.

Sometimes life changes your WHY. Sometimes it gives your WHY an even deeper meaning.

As I continue growing as a leader and developing other leaders, I want to help people discover what truly drives them.

Because success isn't simply about what we accomplish. It's about who we become, the people we serve, and the legacy we leave behind.

Never lose sight of what matters most.
