We had a great turn out for our Annual Vermont Farm Bureau Summer Picnic this August!

This year the picnic was graciously hosted and catered by Addison County Farm Bureau at the Patricia A. Hannaford Career Tech Center in Middlebury, Vermont.

Members had the opportunity to sit in on the board business meeting, attend a risk management seminar with nationwide insurance and learn more about their tractor diagnostic tools with a collaborative hands on workshop with their equipment dealers.

We thank all of our members, county leaders, and equipment dealers for coming together to create this great event.

🧄 Garlic

Garlic is usually harvested in midsummer after months of growing underground.

Before harvest, farmers remove the curly flower stalk, called a scape, so the plant puts more energy into growing a larger bulb.

🍂 Planting Season: Garlic is planted in the fall and harvested the following summer.
🌱 Growing Conditions: It prefers loose, well-drained soil rich in organic matter.
