This Moment Matters More Than You Think
Dear Community,
To those in my community who are sitting beside a loved one in hospice… or to those who may be quietly preparing for a transition of your own…
I want to say something simple, but deeply important.
This moment matters.
Not just the big decisions, not just the medications, not just the schedules…
but the little things that remind someone they are still here.
Sit with them.
Hold their hand.
Play their favorite song.
Bring them something they’ve always loved, even if they can only take a sip, a bite, or just smile at the memory of it.
Watch them… really watch them…
because they are still teaching you something.
And if you are the one going through this transition…
please, know this:
You are not just “waiting.”
You are still living.
You are still worthy of joy, comfort, laughter, and peace.
You deserve to feel the best parts of life… right up to the very end.
Let’s not make these moments feel sterile or distant.
Let’s fill them with love, presence, and humanity.
Say what needs to be said.
Forgive where you can.
Laugh when it comes.
Cry when it needs to.
But most of all… show up.
Because how we love in these moments…
is what carries someone gently into their next chapter.
They deserve that.
And so do you.
With love, always,
Moné
