THE INSURANCE COMPANIES GIVEBACK
Clark Insurance is proud to partner with our carriers to protect you & your family during these challenging times. We're pleased to announce that to get relief into your hands quickly and easily, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the following carriers are offering the following refunds / credits:
• MetLife: MetLife Auto & Home is halting cancellations of auto policies due to nonpayment through July 1 to offer relief to its customers. Auto customers who are paid to date will receive a 15% credit for April and May based on their monthly premiums.
• Progressive: auto customers who have a policy in force as of April 30th will be credited 20% of their April premiums in May and personal auto customers with a policy in force as of May 31st will be credited 20% of their May premiums in June. If they have a balance on the policy, Progressive will apply the credit directly to the remaining balance. And if they’ve already paid in full, Progressive will return the money to the payment account they have on file.
• Nationwide: offering a one-time premium refund of $50 per policy for personal auto policies active as of March 31, 2020. You don't need to do anything. Refunds will automatically be credited to your most recent method of payment (for example, automatic withdrawal, credit card, personal check) within the next 30 days, subject to regulatory approval.
• Travelers: has launched the Stay-at-Home Auto Premium Credit Program, which will automatically give U.S. personal auto insurance customers a 15% credit on their April and May premiums.
• Kemper: personal auto customers who have a policy in force as of April 30 will receive a 15% credit on their April premiums in May, and personal auto customers with a policy in force as of May 31 will receive a 15% credit on their May premiums in June. The two premium credits are subject to approval from regulators. The credits will be applied directly to the policyholder’s policy. If a customer has paid in full, they will receive a refund of the credited amounts. Customers will not need to take any action to receive the benefits.
• Safeco: Personal auto insurance customers will receive a 15% refund on two months of their auto premium, based on your premium amount as of April 7, 2020. Safeco is planning to issue a refund in the manner the customer made the most recent payment or by check. Refunds will be issued in the coming weeks after Safeco has approval from state insurance regulators. The refund will happen automatically, and customers do not need to call Safeco to get their refund.
