‼ Restaurants and Small Businesses Owners ‼ - We're seeing an increase in counterfeit bills already this year and the majority are very clearly marked "For Motion Picture Use Only" and not legal tender.

Picture examples of a $20, $50 & $100 bills that we have received from small businesses in 2026 so far.

Tips to spot easy-to-detect counterfeit notes:
✅Take a quick glance at the currency when you receive it.
✅If it has foreign writing on it, it could be fake.
✅If it has "For Motion Picture Use Only" or "Prop Money" on it, it is fake.
✅Black lights or counterfeit pens, can help detect fake bills.

Notify your local authorities if you come in contact with counterfeit bills.

The Secret Service is responsible for the investigation of counterfeits and have resources available on their websites to help educate cash handlers. In addition, they provide an app to help you learn to authenticate your money.
