Following the destructive hurricane seasons of 2004 and 2005, a group of seasoned insurance professionals saw the lack of private companies devoting themselves to the Florida marketplace and wanted to provide a solution for Florida homeowners. Among this investment group is the Jerger family, who have been leaders in the Florida insurance industry since 1946. American Traditions Insurance Company
(ATIC) received their Certificate of Authority, and in January of 2006 began to write policies for manufactured homes. Specializing in this area allowed us to lead the way in offering reliable coverage to manufactured homeowners at an affordable rate. Shortly thereafter, ATIC began writing homeowner and condominium unit-owner policies. ATIC grew quickly and in 2007 launched their affiliate insurance company, Modern USA Insurance Company (MUSA). MUSA offered additional capacity for homeowner, manufactured home, and condominium policies to the Florida marketplace. This allowed for continued growth and the ability for ATIC and MUSA to provide a market that consumers choose to place their trust in. On May 31, 2018, ATIC announced that it merged with affiliate MUSA. Both companies have been managed by the same team of insurance professionals whom have a combined 150+ years’ experience in the insurance industry. Since the affiliate companies offer identical products with identical rates, the impact to MUSA policyholders will be minimal. As a result of this merger, American Traditions Insurance Company will become the largest writer of manufactured home insurance in Florida. The company will continue to issue policies through a vast network of Florida independent insurance agents who are chosen carefully to represent us with only the highest standard of integrity, good faith, and fair dealings with the public. Our goal continues to maintain a conservative approach with financial solvency and longevity always at the forefront.
