Hi Everyone,

Currently the American Rescue Plan Act is going to be voted on in Congress on July 29, 2022.

The ARPA (American rescue plan act) was put into place March 2021, which made insurance premiums MUCH more affordable. If Congress doesn’t vote to extend the ARPA, than Health Insurance premiums through the Marketplace will increase exponentially.

Here are some key takeaways:

-The American Rescue Plan Act included temporary subsidy increases for health insurance, including larger ACA subsidies for individuals between 100—400% Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and expanded subsidy eligibility for individuals above 400% FPL (a cap of 8.5%).

-If Congress does not pass additional legislation, we will return to pre-ARPA subsidies for Plan Year 2023. This means higher, possibly unaffordable, prices for Health Insurance Premiums.

What you can do:

-See how YOU will be affected with this subsidy calculator : https://subsidyestimator.com/representative-tool/
-Contact your Congress members https://www.congress.gov/members/find-your-member and urge them to continue the additional ARPA subsidies.
-Congress may try to vote on this extension by July 29th so I encourage each of you to reach out as soon as possible.
