If you’re a new graduate, keeping track of your money can feel a little overwhelming. You’re getting paychecks, paying new bills, and trying to figure out what’s left over — that’s where a budget can really help.
Think of a budget as a simple plan that shows where your money should go. Start with your take-home pay (the amount you get after taxes), make sure your important needs are covered, and then see what you can use for everything else.
Try tracking your spending for just one month — it can be surprising to see where your money actually goes. You can use “envelopes,” savings categories, or even a simple spreadsheet to stay organized.
If you have questions about your finances or want to talk about investment ideas as a new grad, we’re here and happy to help.
