Today is not just about a long weekend, backyard cookouts, beach trips, or sales signs in every store window. Today is about remembering the people who never made it home.
Memorial Day carries a weight that deserves more than a quick post and a flag emoji. Behind every freedom we enjoy is a name, a family, a story, and a sacrifice most of us will never fully understand.
Some gave up birthdays, holidays, time with their children, and years of their lives in service to something bigger than themselves. Some gave everything.
That is why this day matters.
It is a reminder that freedom has always come at a cost paid by brave men and women willing to stand in places most people would run from. People who answered the call knowing there were no guarantees.
So today, while we gather with family and enjoy the life we are blessed to live, we also pause with gratitude.
For the fallen.
For the families who still carry the loss.
For the courage that shaped generations.
For the heroes whose names we may never know, but whose sacrifice we live because of every single day.
May we never become so comfortable that we forget what was given for us to live freely.🇺🇸
