A GOOD DEED OFTEN COMES BACK TO BITE YOU! In the last couple of weeks I've had 3 transactions killed because someone co-signed for someone for a loan, usually a parent but in 2 cases it was friends. Some don't realize when you co-sign, you obligate yourself for the entire loan. If you are still considering it, demand the other party make the payments AND KEEP A PERFECT, DOCUMENTABLE record of the payments. In most cases after proof of 12 consecutive payments, we can get that effect of the debt taken off the qualifying process if you're trying to buy or refinance your property.
