Anyone else missing the joy and excitement of the World Cup? 🙋🏽♀️
As a little girl in Barrio Simón Bolívar, I played soccer in the streets and stood in front of the TV cheering for the underdog. I never imagined I'd one day watch the World Cup from the stands, surrounded by thousands of people who shared that same passion.
When Ecuador's national anthem played, I cried. After leaving Ecuador at twelve years old, I suddenly felt connected to the little girl I used to be. I cried when we scored. I cried when we won. I celebrated with complete strangers who felt like neighbors for ninety minutes.
But the best part? I got to experience it through the eyes of the next generation. I was watching a dream become a memory.
Being fully present in a moment like that, without checking my phone or stressing about the bank account, is exactly why we build businesses in the first place. We build them for freedom.
