Last week, one of our customers experienced the kind of loss we hope no one ever has to go through.
Her home burned down.
She and her fiancé lost virtually everything. No purse. No phone. No clothes. No everyday essentials. Injuries from smoke inhilation. Even their two dogs were hurt and had to be cared for by the APL.
In moments like that, insurance stops being about premiums, deductibles and policy documents.
It becomes about simply being there.
Because of the resources State Farm gives its local agents, we were able to immediately provide her with a significant advance on her claim so she could begin taking care of the things that suddenly mattered most….a place to stay, food, clothing and basic necessities.
Beyond the check, we were able to sit down with her that night and answer questions, talk through what happens next and hopefully make an incredibly overwhelming situation feel just a little more manageable. We were also able to help with some of the everyday essentials and comfort items that become so important when everything has been turned upside down.
This is something I wish more people thought about when choosing an insurance company.
Price matters. Coverage matters.
But when something truly awful happens, you also want to know:
Who am I going to call?
Will someone answer?
Will they know what to do?
And will the company standing behind them give them the ability to actually help me?
That is what having a local agent is supposed to mean.
We hope our customers never need us on the worst day of their lives. But if they do, we want them to know exactly who they can call.
That’s why we believe insurance should be more than a policy. You should have people in your corner that will be there for you when you need them.
