Liberty National Bank Board Chairman Carl T. Cecil has announced the appointment of Trava Drake to the bank’s Board of Directors.
Cecil said, “I have known Trava for many years, and the bank has valued the relationship of Coston & Son for decades. The company has literally helped build our community from the ground up. Trava has done an outstanding job, and I look forward to her input. I join the Liberty board, management, and staff in welcoming her.”
Drake graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Business Administration. Early in her career she began working with the Texas Department of Human Services, Aged & Disabled Services Division. She later worked in the state offices in Austin as an Executive Writer. In the early 1990’s, Drake moved back to Paris to work at Coston & Son Ready Mix where she served as the office administrator. Her roles included: dispatch, payroll, accounts payable and receivable and receptionist. She later transitioned to the management side and became President of the company in 2005. In 2020, Drake seized the opportunity to purchase Coston & Son Ready Mix from her parents, along with her partner Kyle Coston. She currently serves as the President and CFO of the company.
She is married to Richard Drake and has two children, Aaron Ables and wife Sierra and Ellie Ables and fiancé, Garett Cook. She also has one grandson, Crew Smith. Drake is a member of His Place Fellowship Church.
“My family has partnered with Liberty National Bank for over sixty years, and I have seen firsthand the massive impact they have on local businesses. They have played a major role in our success, and our family is deeply grateful for their decades of support. I am deeply honored to be asked to serve on the bank’s Board of Directors,” stated Drake.
Drake’s current professional goals are to focus on strategic growth and modernization of Coston & Son. She also strives to support her highly talented team to work independently and to delegate more operational responsibilities. Her long-term goal is to ensure that her business is set up for continued success for future generations. She contributes the company’s success to an early foundation laid by her grandparents and parents. She looks forward to continuing their legacy of integrity and service.
Her community involvement includes serving on the worship team at His Place Fellowship Church, the Paris Community Choir and the Paris Junior College Foundation as a Board Member.
“I have a lot to learn about banking but having run a local business in Paris for over twenty years, I hope to bring a practical, ground-level perspective to board discussions. My goal is to help ensure the bank continues to understand and effectively support the needs of our local business community,” she said.
