We enjoyed partnering with Transitions Life Center (TLC) for a recent Coffee Cart event at our Ocala Banking Center. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with community members, share a few cups of coffee, and learn more about the positive impact TLC is making throughout Marion County and beyond. This year's festival raised $145,000 for three local organizations: Kimberly's Center, Interfaith Emergency Services, and the Marion County Literacy Council. Created by members of the Ocala Silver Springs Rotary Club, the festival was established to support causes and organizations that make a lasting difference in the community. We are grateful to be part of an event that helps strengthen Marion County through the work of these deserving nonprofit partners.

In celebration of National Senior Citizens Day, we're honored to share that Money has recognized First Federal Bank as one of the Best Banks and Credit Unions for Seniors for 2026, earning the publication's Best for Fee Waivers distinction.

For its 2026 rankings, Money evaluated hundreds of the nation's largest retail banks, credit unions, regional banks, state banks, and online banks. Institutions were compared based on opening balance requirements, interest rates, fees, and account features to identify the top performers.

First Federal Bank was recognized for its Essential Seniors Checking account, which offers customers ages 55 and older opportunities to waive monthly maintenance fees by meeting qualifying account requirements, along with additional account benefits. The publication also highlighted the bank's competitive CD options for customers with higher balances.

We may be a little past Couple’s Day, but we’re keeping the celebration going by spotlighting a duo who knows what it means to be partners both at home and at work.

Today we are spotlighting Garrett Greaves, a Network Administrator, and Laney Greaves, a Regional Teller, from our Lake City Financial Center.

Garrett and Laney have been married for almost two years, and they’re not just partners at home, they’re coworkers, too! Their favorite part about working together? Getting to have lunch together every day.

Laney says, “As a Regional Teller, I am always happy to go the extra mile to help other branches and meet customers from all locations and walks of life, from the big cities to the retirement communities.”

Garrett says, “I enjoy being able to work with a business that has such a large impact on our local communities.”

When they’re not at work, Garrett and Laney love floating the river, camping, and road-tripping across the country. We’re so happy to have this friendly face duo on our team.

Through giving, volunteerism, and community programs, we supported 292 local nonprofits, dedicated 5,200 volunteer hours, and contributed $88,802 through First Federal Way and $50,500 through our Community Rewards Program. From education and the arts to health and wellness, these efforts help create stronger, healthier communities.
