An appraisal and a home inspection serve two different purposes.

The appraisal provides an independent opinion of value for the lender and may identify certain visible property concerns.

A home inspection can take a closer look at the home’s condition, including accessible plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, roof and other components.

An appraisal coming in at value does not mean the house is free of problems. Before waiving an inspection, make sure you understand what you could be giving up and discuss it with your real estate professionals.

A good first date is not due diligence. Neither is a good appraisal. 🤌

Underwriting brought receipts. And apparently, they needed a bigger printer. 🧾😂

Being upfront goes beyond checking the right boxes on your mortgage application.

Past bankruptcy, foreclosure, or other financial bumps? Include this information upfront.

Changing jobs? Taking on new debt? Tell your lender, even if you don’t see a question specifically asking about it.
