Tennessee Members 1st Federal Credit Union

Tennessee Members 1st Federal Credit Union Proudly providing member-based financial services for over 70 years. A CDFI certified credit union. Why Should I Join a Credit Union?

Credit union membership offers many benefits. Here are just a few:

Credit unions are not-for-profit. This means that decisions are made with the members in mind, not a group of stockholders. The members own the credit union. A credit union is a financial cooperative. Members’ resources are pooled in order to provide low-cost, low-fee products. No matter how large or small a member’s accounts with

the credit union may be, that member has equal ownership in the credit union. This means that the member can:

Run for the Board of Directors (the Board is comprised of members who serve as volunteers, meeting each month). Serve on any one of the member-comprised committees. Attend and vote at the Annual Meeting. These benefits are unique to credit unions, and cannot be found at banks! The credit union legacy is a long and proud one, and as a credit union member, you can be a part of that legacy.

For more than 30 years, Dana has been part of the Tennessee Members 1st story.

She joined our team as a teller in 1995 and now serves as our Vice President of Operations & Lending. Along the way, she's celebrated life's milestones with members, helped families through challenging seasons, and built relationships that have lasted for decades.

When asked what she loves most about her work, Dana shared:
"Helping members when they need help, listening to them when they just need an ear, and laughing with them about life."

It's relationships like these that have defined Tennessee Members 1st for nearly 80 years. Thank you, Dana, for being such an important part of that story. 💙

On Women's Equality Day, we recognize the progress that's been made and the work that continues to create opportunity for future generations.

Every day across East Tennessee, women are making a difference in ways both big and small—running local businesses, teaching in our schools, advancing research, caring for neighbors, serving our communities, and supporting the people around them.

Today, we're grateful for the many women whose work, leadership, and dedication help make our communities stronger. 💙

80 years ago, Tennessee Members 1st Federal Credit Union got its start in the Department of Energy building in Oak Ridge. A lot has changed since then, but one thing hasn't: our members are the reason we're here. 💙

Some of you have been with us for decades. Others have joined more recently. No matter when you became a member, you've helped shape who we are through the milestones, memories, and everyday moments we've shared together.

Now we'd love to look back on some of those memories with you. Share your favorite story or photo at https://trst.in/ZdVmLy.

80 Years. One Community. Thank you for being part of our journey. We can't wait to see what comes next.

Want to make more progress on your debt? Consider putting a little extra toward your balance each month. 💸

Look at your budget and choose an extra amount you can comfortably afford. Then, plan to make that additional payment each month. Even a small amount can help when you stay consistent.

As your budget allows, you can increase that amount over time. Every extra payment helps bring down your balance and gets you closer to your financial goals.

Access to quality healthcare can make a life-changing difference, and we're grateful for organizations working to make that care more accessible.

Next week, we're proud to welcome our Community Partner, Remote Area Medical - RAM, to our Knoxville Branch.

Kind words like these remind us why we do what we do.

Every conversation, every question, and every visit is a chance to make banking feel a little more personal. It's something our team works toward every day.

Thank you for trusting us with your membership, and thank you to Gayle, Crystal, and Victoria for making such a lasting impact.
