What's up with those Oak Park Zetas!!! www.oakparkzetas.com Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Upsilon Psi Zeta Chapter was chartered in Oak Park, MI on November 11, 2006 by 13 women who sought change.

UPZ sought after the will to be vital assets of our beloved organization and to encourage each other as trailblazers. By setting standards to never expect or accept anything less than our principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love and Finer Womanhood, we continue to hold the true essence of what our five illustrious founders envisioned. was founded on the simple belief that our actions should not overshadow the real mission for progressive organizations. UPZ adopts this belief and many others. We serve and act on our duty to perform sororal obligations in the name of Zeta, while ensuring we address society’s ills, as we work towards seeking the solution of issues that plague our communities.

As a proud partner of March of Dimes, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is committed to educating communities across the nation. Through events and collaborations with local nonprofits, corporations, and small businesses, we are amplifying the vital work March of Dimes accomplishes daily in programming, research, advocacy, and health education.

Each year, more than half a million babies are born prematurely in the United States, with our national preterm birth rate increasing by 36 percent over the past 26 years — a significant cause for concern. While many women do have healthy pregnancies, the US is among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth.
In support of our annual Zeta Prematurity Awareness Program, we invite you to join us and March of Dimes in our unwavering advocacy for the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act. This effort aligns with our programmatic focus — The Extraordinary Power of S.H.E. — empowering Zetas globally to champion Social, Health, and Economic justice for women both locally and internationally.

Take action by:
Donating to support life-saving research, advocacy, and programs.
Sharing your story to provide support and solidarity for other parents.

Together, let’s end preventable preterm birth and help all families have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.

On our Road to Twenty Years of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood, we’re excited to welcome another Soror to UPZ!

Soror Makiyah Morris has officially transferred to UPZ and we’re thrilled to have her join Those Oak Park Zetas!

Soror Makiyah was initiated into our beloved sisterhood on April 6, 2003, through Grand Valley State University. Professionally, she serves as a Mortgage Loan Originator.

She shared that the chapter makes her feel at home right away by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported. Open communication and taking the time to get to know her as a person would help her to feel at home.

Soror Makiyah says that she identifies most with the principle of Sisterhood. She said that Sisterhood was my reason for becoming a Zeta. Soror Morris shared, "bonds created through sisterhood are something I hold near and dear to my heart—whether those bonds are formed through Zeta or throughout life. I cherish the love, support, and lifelong connections that sisterhood brings."

Soror Makiyah, welcome to UPZ, home to "Those Oak Park Zetas"! We are excited to have you join us and look forward to the impact you will make as we continue our work of service together.

Domestic violence is the use of physical force to control and torture a partner, spouse, or children.

We wear purple to bring awareness and show support for DV victims and survivors. "It's not the bruises on the body that hurt the most. It is the wounds of the heart and the scars on the mind."
