Meet Dice.
This sweet ~2-year-old Chihuahua mix arrived at as a Humane Agent case, attacked by a husky days earlier, his wounds stitched by an Army vet but badly infected by the time he reached us. He was in serious pain and could barely walk.
We sedated him to debride and clean the wounds, but there wasn't enough healthy tissue left for immediate closure. What followed was days of wet-to-dry bandage changes, a foster home for round-the-clock monitoring (and yes, a little bit of Dice being a very naughty patient), and finally, surgical closure once the wound had healed enough.
Dice is the kind of case that reminds us exactly why partnerships like the one with the TrueCore Federal Credit Union matter.
