Today we celebrated something special for the very first time: James’ Gotcha Day! We let her choose activities for the entire day and did some of her favorite things (the most important was )
Six years ago today, she officially became ours. This is the first year we’ve celebrated because it wasn’t until last year that we started having conversations with her about her adoption story and what this day means. As she’s getting older, she’s beginning to understand more of the beautiful way God brought our family together.
James has never felt anything but loved and wanted and we pray that that never changes. She has always been our daughter, even before she was born, because the Lord always had a plan for her to be a part of our family. But today gives us a chance to celebrate a milestone that helped shape our family’s story.
James, you God’s greatest gift to us. Being your mom and dad is a privilege we never take for granted. You have brought so much joy, laughter, adventure, and love into our lives.
We thank God for you every single day and are so grateful that out of all the families in the world, He chose ours to be yours.
