As we celebrated with the community last month, we also looked ahead to our next chapter: plans to relocate our main branch and administrative offices just up the street, keeping our roots on Jefferson Street and our focus on the Nashville community.

Citizens Savings Bank & Trust Company joins the Nashville community in mourning the loss of two true local icons and dear friends of the bank, Jack Cawthon and Lorenzo Washington.

Jack Cawthon was a visionary entrepreneur, barbecue pioneer, and relentless champion for Nashville’s culinary scene. Through Jack’s BBQ, his kindness, and his unwavering support for fellow business owners, he helped shape the spirit and flavor of our city.

Lorenzo Washington, founder and curator of the Jefferson Street Sound Museum, dedicated his life to preserving the rich history and musical heritage of North Nashville and historic Jefferson Street. His passion ensured that the stories of legendary artists and vibrant community roots will inspire generations to come.

Both men embodied the heart, resilience, and community spirit that make Nashville extraordinary. We extend our deepest condolences to the Cawthon and Washington families, their loved ones, and all who were impacted by their extraordinary lives and legacies.

Rest in peace, Jack and Lorenzo. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
