On Memorial Day, we honor the brave Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines who gave their lives in service to our Nation. Their sacrifice secured and continues to secure the freedoms we enjoy today, and their legacy endures in every generation that follows.

Pictured below is the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, France. The remains of 9,389 American Military Service Members and the Wall of the Missing memorialize 1,557 Americans whose remains were never recovered or identified.

📻 Posey County EMA, with help from the Posey County Health Department, is currently offering FREE weather radios to residents of Posey County! These radios are a critical tool for receiving real-time alerts about severe storms, tornado warnings, and other emergencies — even if the power goes out or you’re asleep.

Having a weather radio can make all the difference when seconds count. Don’t wait until a storm is already on the way.

Most MV Schools are closing early due to Water Issues.

Due to water supply issues, all Mt. Vernon schools with the exception of Marrs Elementary School will be dismissing at 10:45 am. We will operate under a boil order today and work with local officials and monitor the school buildings for pressure changes.
