With hurricane season rapidly approaching, we wanted to share some Hurricane Preparedness Tips to help protect you, your family and your home:
• Charge phones and devices in case of power loss.
• Document your valuables with photos or video.
• Plan communications with family/friends and share your location with contacts in safe areas.
• Keep key contacts handy — family, neighbors, your insurance company, and emergency services.
• Shelter safely in an interior room, away from windows and glass doors.
• Stay informed via radio or alerts for weather updates and evacuation orders.
• Evacuate promptly if instructed — bring important documents, medications, and supplies for both people and pets.
• After the storm, watch for flooding, downed power lines, and debris.
• Check food and water safety — discard spoiled food and boil water if advised.

We are heartbroken for Western North Carolina and all other cities/communities that were ravaged by the recent hurricane. We are joining the effort to collect and deliver goods to help those in need. If you want to help Hurricane and flooding victims, but don't know how- Operation Compassion is on the ground with products donated by corporate partners, but they are overwhelmed with logistical/transportation challenges. Consider making a monetary donation now. Every dollar counts. It will help them get the supplies to the people who need it most. If you can't give, consider liking/sharing the post to make others aware of the need and the effort.

1. Rapidly rising water
2. Water is muddy/carrying debris
3. Occurs within 6 hours of a rain event
