RETIRED FEDERAL EMPLOYEES — Are Your Health Insurance Premiums Getting Out of Hand?

I've been hearing from more retired federal employees who are frustrated with how much their health insurance premiums continue to increase.

Many have carried Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal Employee coverage for years. It's familiar, it's served them well, and they've never really questioned it.

Until those premiums started adding up.

And it's not just something I'm hearing from clients.

According to Consumers' Checkbook, the average enrollee share of Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) premiums increased approximately 13.5% in 2025 and 12.3% in 2026.

Take a look at the second graphic. Those increases are worth paying attention to!

So here's my question: Are you paying more than you need to for health insurance?

Hi neighbors! With Medicare Open Enrollment in full swing, I thought this would be a great time to introduce myself to those I haven't had the chance to meet yet!

Medicare Open Enrollment starts TODAY!

If you have a Medicare Advantage or Part D prescription drug plan, don't assume your coverage will look the same in 2027!

Every year, I talk with people who are surprised to discover their premiums have increased, their prescriptions are covered differently, or their doctors are no longer in their plan's network.

October 15 marks the beginning of Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period, and it's a great time to make sure your coverage is still the right fit for 2027.

Sometimes it's just easier to sit down with someone in person and get your questions answered!

With Medicare Open Enrollment beginning October 15, I know there are a lot of questions about plan changes, benefits, and what options might be available for the coming year.

From community events to a little friendly football rivalry, there's been plenty going on around here lately!

A couple of weeks ago, I had a great time at the Fall Marketplace, meeting new people and visiting with familiar faces.

Last week, I also had the opportunity to attend a ribbon cutting for Oklahoma City Indian Clinic. It's always great to celebrate organizations making a difference in our community!

Last night, I enjoyed another great South OKC Chamber event hosted by First United Bank - OKC Southwest. It's always good to catch up with fellow business owners, make new connections, and support our local business community. Thanks to First United Bank for hosting!

And now we're heading into one of my favorite weekends of the year... OU vs. Texas!
I couldn't resist digging up a couple of throwback pictures of the boys in their OU gear. We've been cheering on the Sooners for a long time in our house, and it's fun looking back at those memories.

Whether you're headed to Dallas or watching from home, I hope everyone has a great weekend and we get to celebrate a Sooner victory!
