According to Redfin data cited by MySA, the Houston market has about 130% more sellers than buyers. Put simply: for every 100 buyers, there are roughly 230 sellers competing for them.

That’s why it’s considered a buyer’s market.

Yes, rates are still high — but that gives buyers room to negotiate. Ask for seller credits and use them toward a permanent rate buydown or temporary rate buydown to help lower that payment.

More inventory + fewer buyers = more negotiating power.
