⚡️ Lightning Safety Awareness Week is June 22–28, 2026 ⚡️
Lightning is incredibly dangerous and it can strike even when you don’t see a storm. That’s why knowing the basics matters:
🔎 A safe rule of thumb: If you can hear thunder, you’re close enough to be struck.
🏃 Act fast: If thunder sounds, go to a safe shelter immediately.
🚫 Avoid risky places: Open fields, under trees, metal bleachers, porches, and anything with exposed plumbing/cords.
📵 Stay indoors during the storm: Avoid windows and don’t use corded electronics.
This week, share these reminders with your family and check that everyone knows where to go when storms hit. ⚡️
