PSA: Do not think that COBRA fills your gaps at Medicare age. Had a call today where an individual’s COBRA is ending and has been carrying COBRA alongside Medicare Part A and B. Loss of COBRA coverage is not a Special Enrollment Period event and you will have to wait for Open Enrollment to enroll to a plan to and cover gaps and Rx, and depending on the timing and health conditions forced to a Medicare Advantage plan because you have lapsed your Guaranteed Issue period for Medicare Supplement AND possibly have to pay Part D penalties for not having Creditable Coverage. Not to mention paying for COBRA on top of Part B premiums is widely expensive!!! Always talk to an agent!!!
