đ PEACH FLIPPED THE WHOLE GAME
Mary Persons had Peach County in some trouble last night.
MP controlled a lot of that first half. Their defense was giving Peach problems, and the Bulldogs built a 21-7 lead.
Peach found a little life late in the half and got a field goal to make it 21-10 going into halftime.
Then the game flipped.
Peach came out and scored on the second play of the second half.
MP goes three-and-out.
Peach gets it back and breaks a long touchdown run.
Just like that, 21-10 became 22-21 Peach.
But what stood out to me wasnât just the comeback.
It was the way Peach started running the football.
They were running HARD.
Breaking tackles. Running through arm tackles. Fighting for first downs. Finishing runs.
Mary Persons had done a good job against the run early. By the second half, Peach was making them work just to get guys on the ground.
A 21-yard touchdown run early in the fourth made it 29-21.
And donât overlook special teams. Peach blocked a punt and a field-goal attempt. Those were big plays while MP had control of the game.
Final: Peach County 29, Mary Persons 21.
This wasnât Peachâs first test. We already saw them have to fight against Jefferson earlier this season.
This one tested them differently.
They were down 21-7. The offense was struggling. Mary Persons had control of the game.
Peach got three before halftime.
Then came out and outscored MP 19-0 in the second half.
Thatâs what stood out to me.
Peach didnât just come back. They flipped the whole game.
